Heroes Vodka Story

Heroes Vodka was founded in 2009 by Travis McVey, a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran who proudly served as a Presidential Honor Guard from 1989-1992. An innovative and determined entrepreneur, Travis endured the life-changing tragedy of a good friend dying in combat in the War Against Terror in Afghanistan. The experience paved the way for Travis to realize the American dream of owning a business, a business that would enable him to continue to serve his country. Travis's vision was to develop a brand to partner with well-known Veteran organizations. His mission was to help Veterans get the care they deserve. With Heroes Vodka, Travis's dream has become a reality.

Heroes Vodka was first bottled on Veteran's Day, 11.11.11, a date that occurs only once in a century and epitomizes the rarity of this event. As the "Official Spirit of a Grateful Nation", the mission of Heroes Vodka is to deliver exceptional taste and superior value to consumers, while honoring Veterans and other American service organizations through charitable contributions.

Heroes Vodka Giveback

Every Purchase Benefits U.S. Veterans & American Heroes

The Heroes Vodka mission is to provide exceptional taste and superior value to consumers, while honoring Veterans and other American Heroes through charitable contributions.

Supporting Military Heroes Through a Parntership with AMVETS

Every sale of Heroes Vodka supports America's military Heroes. Since its market launch in 2012, Heroes Vodka has been committed to giving back to U.S. Veterans and their families. A portion of every Heroes Vodka purchase goes to its Giveback Partner, AMVETS, to develop community assistance programs for American veterans, active duty military, and their families. In 2015, Heroes Vodka donated $14,000 to AMVETS, making the total since inception more than $34,000. In 2014, Heroes Vodka was named No. 4 on the Top 10 List of Brands that Support Veterans (source: Business 2 Community, Dec 2014). In addition to presenting an annual check to AMVETS on Veterans Day, Heroes Vodka works throughout the year to raise awareness at various special events, on military holidays, and through several other organizations that support our American Heroes.

Standing Together With Pride

Following the Orlando Massacre in June 2016, Heroes Vodka partnered with The Lipstick Lounge of Nashville, TN, to present a $17,000 donation to Equality Florida. Heroes Vodka founder Travis McVey says: "Heroes are those who stand up against hate, discrimination and terrorism regardless of any labels society tries to segregate us into to divide us. We are proud to stand up for what is right in the world and to give back to those we have lost to this senseless act of cowardice and terrorism in Orlando, Florida. We make a living by what we get but we make a life by what we give."

This event came about as a result of an unexpected, selfless story that began on June 13 at 9:25pm when three employees at East Nashville LGBT bar, The Lipstick Lounge, offered to donate their tips following the tragedy at Pulse Night Club in Orlando. Less then 24 hours later, the house was packed with supporters coming together to share in what would end up being a pay-it-forward story no one could foresee.

The three employees at the quaint bar raised $7,804.10!
News spread quickly to Nashville-based R.S. Lipman Company, supplier of Heroes Vodka. When McVey heard this story he immediately decided Heroes Vodka would match the donation!!

An official Giveback Event culminated on June 28, 2016, when Heroes Vodka, The Lipstick Lounge and thier t-shirt vendor East Side Propaganda joined together for a total donation of $17,000 to Equality Florida.
